Close Visual Inspection

The condition of a vessel’s structure, coating, appliances, pipe lines and other outfitted items, along with the extent of any corrosion (if applicable), can be assessed using a Close Visual Inspection. The overall condition of a vessel, potential safety issues, and any items of note can then be identified in order to inform Vessel Owners/Managers in their decisions regarding future inspection and/or repair.

The extent of inspection is always tailored to suit the needs of the customer. An advantage of Close Visual Surveys is that they can be undertaken while a ship is at sea.

Our Close Visual Surveys are carried out by inspectors with years of experience. Tank entry procedures are adhered to all times, in accordance with vessel instructions and the requirements of Marine Inspection Services Ltd.
